Do you dread summer every year because the weather gets warmer and you’re still in jeans? Do you wish you could have a beach body that reflects the regular exercise and healthy meal plan in your daily routine? At Verve Weight Loss & Laser Aesthetics in Upland, CA, we’d like to talk to you about SculpSure and how it can change your self-confidence for good and getting ready for summer body.

What Is SculpSure?

SculpSure laser body sculpting, also known as WarmSculpting, is a revolutionary, FDA-approved body contouring device and treatment. With the power of laser light energy and heat, this device liquefies fat cells in the desired areas. Once the fat cells are liquefied, they travel through your lymphatic system. Eventually, they make their way to your gut.

Once in your gut, the dead fat cells are processed by deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a chemical compound that usually processes dietary fat. However, it treats dead fat cells from your body the same way it treats dietary fat. Once processed, your fat will be excreted via your urine out of your body. At this point, you can enjoy your beach body!

Getting Ready for Summer

The SculpSure device can remove fat from virtually any trouble region on your body. We say virtually because there has to be enough fat to treat. This device will remove excess fat from small areas of your body, such as beneath your chin and behind your knees. However, if there isn’t enough excess fat, the treatment won’t be effective.

During your initial consultation, we will assess your current body fat distribution to help you determine if the parts of your body you are self-conscious of have enough fat for effective treatment. Similarly, we will ensure that your trouble regions do not have too much excess fat.

Important Questions About Getting Your Summer Body

How Much Fat Is Too Much Fat?

Without performing a physical examination, determining how much fat in one area is too much fat is pretty difficult. Generally, if you are within 10 pounds of your goal weight, you probably will not have too much fat in any one area to treat effectively. However, if you are between 11 and 30 pounds from your goal weight, a physical exam is necessary.

What Can I Expect During Treatment?

When treatment begins, you will feel a cooling sensation. This feature was thoughtfully included to ensure the comfort of your skin during the treatment. While the laser cycles on and off, the cooling effect remains. Our clients report that treatment feels like a hot stone massage, simultaneously relaxing and invigorating their muscles.

Because the entire treatment is comfortable, there is no need for any type of anesthesia or sedation. One of the primary disadvantages of liposuction, which is an invasive procedure that provides comparable results to WarmSculpting, is how long and uncomfortable the recovery is. It can take up to six months to see lipo results due to extensive, uncomfortable swelling.

What Is the Recovery Process Like?

Because this treatment is noninvasive, there’s no recovery process. There is no downtime, and you are free to go about your daily routine, including exercise and sauna sessions. However, skin that has been treated by a laser is more sensitive to sunlight. Therefore, you should use a broad-spectrum SPF30+ sunscreen after treatment even if the skin is hidden under clothing.

Moreover, you should avoid anti-inflammatory drugs, like ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin for 10 days after your treatment. Finally, massage the treatment site to help your lymphatic system out.

How Long Does Treatment Take?

The length of your treatment depends on several factors. These include the size of the areas you are treating, the number of areas you are treating, and how much fat you want to have removed to achieve your summer body.

During your initial consultation, we will listen carefully to the results you want to achieve. Based on a physical examination of your current body fat distribution, we will advise you regarding how long you can expect your treatment to take. On average, our clients only need a 25-minute treatment session.

How Long Will It Take to See the Results?

You will start to see the skin tightening results of treatment immediately. These results will continue to improve over the course of six months as your body makes stronger, healthier collagen, and elastin. The excess fat cells are killed during the treatment session, however, it takes between two and six weeks for your lymphatic system to flush out the fat cells.

Because the fat cells are liquefied, you will see an immediate and noticeable improvement. However, the fat removal results will continue to improve for several weeks until all your dead fat cells are processed and flushed out of the body.

How Long Will the Results Last?

The fat removal results of WarmSculpting are permanent. Once the lasers kill and liquefy your excess fat cells, your body cannot produce new fat cells. Therefore, there are permanently fewer fat cells in the treated region.

However, the actual body contouring results of treatment vary on a case-by-case basis. Let’s say you had one treatment session to remove fat cells from your upper arms. If you then get pregnant, you might still gain two pounds of fat on your upper arms. Even though there are fewer fat cells in your upper arms, there are still fat cells that can expand if you gain weight.

How Many Treatment Sessions Will I Need?

During your initial consultation, we will advise you regarding how many treatment sessions you can expect to need. On average, WarmSculpting removes 24% of fat cells in a treated region per treatment session. Therefore, if you have 10 pounds of abdominal fat, you can expect your first session to remove 2.4 pounds of fat.

You will then have 7.6 pounds of abdominal fat. If you’re not quite satisfied with the results of your treatment session, you can expect to lose around 24% of your remaining fat cells. In other words, you can expect to lose a further 1.824 pounds of fat and be left with 5.776 pounds of abdominal fat. A third treatment session would leave you with 4.4 pounds of belly fat.

How Many Areas Can I Treat in One Session?

During your initial consultation, we can help you decide how many areas you should treat in a single treatment session. Most of our clients prefer to treat only one large area or two small areas per treatment session. For instance, it is not uncommon for someone to get WarmSculpting done on their inner and outer thighs or upper arms and beneath their chin.

You may choose to receive treatment on your chest and upper abdomen or upper abdomen and lower abdomen. But you may want to treat only one large area, like your back, in a given treatment session.

When Is the Best Time to Getting Ready for Summer Body?

The best time to get your body ready for summer is whenever you feel self-conscious about your body and you are a good candidate for treatment. Because it can take up to six weeks to see the final results of the fat removal, March, April, and May are perfect months to start working on your beach body.

However, if you notice your skin is loose in November or December, you will realize awe-inspiring tight skin and a toned abdomen by the time you’re ready to rock your low-rise skinny jeans and favorite crop top. By far, the best time to get your body ready for summer is right now! There is no time like the present.

Am I a Good Candidate?

If you are displeased by the appearance of stubborn pockets of fat, you may be a good candidate from WarmSculpting. Ideally, you lead a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and a fairly healthy diet. This is not a weight-loss treatment. Rather, it is designed to remove excess fat that is resistant to a healthy diet and regular exercise.

There aren’t a lot of strict requirements regarding your health to be a good candidate for this treatment. In this way, it is completely different from liposuction even though they both remove fat. However, there are a few other things we consider when determining who is a good candidate for this treatment.

Skin Health

WarmSculpting stands apart from other body contouring treatments in that it uses laser heat to kill fat cells. The warmth generated by the light energy triggers your body’s production of collagen and elastin: the proteins and fibers required for tight, healthy skin. However, we do look at skin health, too.

While WarmSculpting tightens your skin as it kills your fat cells, we still look for clients with fairly elastic skin. Elastic skin is skin that “snaps” back into place fairly quickly when it is pinched away from the body. If you’re unsure your skin is elastic, we will help you determine this when we perform your physical examination.

Stable Weight

We regularly accept clients for WarmSculpting who are still losing weight. We also accept clients who do not have a history of reliable weight maintenance. In other words, we accept clients who lose and regain the same weight over and over again. However, the best client for WarmSculpting is one who is confident he or she can maintain their weight.

Even though WarmSculpting tightens your skin, if you gain and subsequently lose a substantial amount of weight, especially if your weight fluctuates quickly, your skin may not be healthy and strong enough to keep up with the weight fluctuation. Therefore, you may experience loose or even excess skin. In such cases, maintenance is necessary.

No Plans for Pregnancy

The ideal candidate for WarmSculpting has no future plans for pregnancy. If you get pregnant after your treatment, there is no risk to you or your fetus. However, pregnancy results in weight gain in a significant number of cases. Therefore, if you get pregnant after your treatment, you may need a maintenance treatment after you have given birth.

Similarly, to be a good candidate for this body contouring treatment, you must not be pregnant now. The FDA has not tested the safety of this treatment on women who are pregnant. Therefore, we cannot recommend it to any of our clients who are pregnant.
